Factors predicting surgical outcome of thymectomy in myasthenia gravis

Aim of the study is to evaluate predictors outcome after thymectomy in management non thymomatous myasthenia gravis. One hundred patients who underwent for gravis period between June 2019 and September 2021 Kasr Alainy hospitals were recruited this study.
 Preoperative assessment included age, gender, co morbidities, MGFA classification, duration symptoms from time diagnosis till surgery, preoperative medication, plasmapheresis. All performed CT chest, electromyography, acetyl choline receptor antibody titer before surgery. Thymectomy was either by transsternal or VATS approach with documentation extent resection; primary improvement classification need medication. Secondary postoperative complications. Complete stable remission achieved 5 patients, clinical pharmacological improvements 71 21 didn’t improve only 3 worsen Finally, we found that early onset MG, absent comorbidity, performing extended reduction Acetyl significant MG thymectomy.
